Democrat Laws Allow School Shooter Suspect Released on $250 Bail

On June 13th, Mariner High School in Everett, WA, went on lockdown as Snohomish County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated a shooting that took place in the school parking lot, involving multiple juvenile suspects. The Sheriff tweeted the lockdown notice around 3:30pm on June 13th and about a half hour later, updated the status notifying the community that the lockdown was lifted, and the suspect, nor the victim had been located

Thanks to a handful of laws passed by the democrat-led Washington state legislature, our law enforcement officials are very limited in how they can proceed in cases like this. They can no longer pursue suspects without probable cause.

In a statement from Snohomish County Sheriff Adam Fortney, dated July 21, 2021 (4 days before this law took effect on July 25, 2021)

“The new legislation allows for pursuits when there is “probable cause to believe that a person in the vehicle has committed or is committing a violent offense or a sex offense as defined in RCW 9.94.030, or escape under chapter 9A.76. RCW.” This legislation also allows a pursuit if there is reasonable suspicion for DUI.

The key part of this legislation is the state has moved the legal bar to pursue for a violent offense to “probable cause” rather than “reasonable suspicion.” For example, if a deputy sheriff was to respond to an armed robbery and the suspect vehicle was described as a blue F150 and a deputy saw a blue F150 driving at a high rate of speed in the same area as the robbery occurred, a law enforcement officer could still try to make a traffic stop this vehicle, however if the suspect vehicle decides to flee we can no longer pursue it under House Bill 1054.”

Washington state Republicans opposed these bills and attempted to call a special session in the second half of 2021 to rectify some of the issues these laws created as communities around the state saw immediate negative impact from these laws.

“On Tuesday at approximately 5:50 p.m., Violent Offender Task Force (VOTF) deputies located the suspect in the 2300 block of 119th Street SW and took him into custody.” The suspect was arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Disturbing School Activity and Possession of a Dangerous Weapon on School Property.

In his court appearance this week, the 15 year old suspect was given a $250 bail and hours later posted bail and was released with no additional accountability or protection for the community. In a press release on June 15th Sheriff Fortney stated:

“Public safety remains our top priority and the youngest members of our community deserve to always be safe at school. I am discouraged to learn the suspect was released in less than 24 hours without an ankle monitor or any additional layer of accountability and protection for our community.”

Last week the the House of Representatives passed HR-7910, the “Protecting Our Kids Act.” This is a Democrat-sponsored package of gun control bills, including enacting red flag laws, increasing the age to purchase firearms from 18 to 21, banning high-capacity magazines and more.

Democrats around the country, with the help of some “Republicans”, are using the recent mass shootings in Buffalo and Uvalde to push their gun control agenda. Democrats who have pushed to defund the police, tie the hands of police and take security out of our government schools.

The shooting this week is a perfect example of how unserious democrats are about protecting our school children. If the democrats truly wanted to “protect our kids”, we wouldn’t see school shooters released within hours on a couple hundred bucks. We wouldn’t see the hands of police tied by laws that force them to develop “probably cause” over “reasonable suspicion.”

Protecting kids is not the plan. Disarming citizens is the plan.

The Democrats are good at using a narrative and playing word games to push their agenda. Who wouldn’t want to “protect kids?” If you don’t support their bill to “protect kids”, you must be a terrible human. This is what they do to the Republicans who will not vote for their gun grabbing bill. Meanwhile, unsuspecting Americans who have no idea what the bill actually is, or no idea how Democrat policies are being played out in Everett and cities across the country, think this must be good policy because it has a nice name.

It’s time for every American to be educated. It’s time for us to share the facts with friends so they understand what is really going on in our government and the agenda that is being pushed. If we do not change the people who are governing this state and this country we can count on losing the freedom that makes us America.

CALL TO ACTION:

The “Protecting Our Kids Act” bill, HR-7910 is headed to the US Senate where 10 Republicans have indicated that they will vote to pass. Please take the time to contact each of these Republicans and let them know that you expect them to vote NO on HR-7910. You can call and it takes 60 seconds, tops!

Who’s to Blame For The Tampon Crisis?

Add tampons to the long list of consumer goods and supplies that are getting harder to find. It seems that regardless of what product you’re looking to buy, the selection and supply are smaller across the board. I’m sure you’ve noticed it on store shelves. Along with a pretty steep rise in prices.

So much winning going on under the Biden Administration.

In an article last week in Time Magazine, the company spokeswoman placed the blame in shortage on the successful ad campaign featuring comedienne, Amy Schumer:

Ask Procter & Gamble why it is so hard to find tampons right now, and the company will blame Amy Schumer. P&G, which makes Tampax, America’s most popular tampon brand, launched a new ad campaign with the comedian in July of 2020. Since then, “retail sales growth has exploded,” spokeswoman Cheri McMaster says. Demand is up 7.7% over the past two years, and the company is running its Auburn, Maine Tampax factory 24/7 to meet demand. (All of P&G’s tampons are made in one factory in Maine; all of the tampons of Edgewell Personal Care, which makes the brands Playtex and o.b., are made in a factory in Dover, Delaware.)

Personally, I find it really hard to believe that women started buying Tampax tampons in record numbers because they were so impressed with the work of Amy Schumer. She’s not really that funny and it’s just a tampon. We just want it to do the job.

The other idea could be that there has been more effort around the country to include feminine products in men’s restrooms…because not just women menstruate. In an effort to include “menstruating men” many schools and businesses have put tampons and other supplies in the men’s room. What could possibly go wrong? (If you spend any time around adolescent males as I do, you can probably think of several things)

If we’re dipping into the supply of tampons to help stock men’s restrooms where they are likely not even being used or being used inappropriately by the non-menstruating males, it can’t be helping this issue.

The truth of the matter is that we have a cotton supply issue, with demand unable to keep up. According to supply-chain specialist Patrick Penfield of Syracuse University, this is the 3rd year in a row where demand for cotton products in the US is exceeding what our companies are producing.

With an administration that is more focused on “woke” issues like transgender surgeries for children, climate change and taking away your second amendment rights, it is pretty safe to say that there hasn’t been a focus on fixing the supply-chain issues we are seeing widely. It’s probably safe to say that we won’t see this improve soon.

WA Middle School Asks Students to Fund Abortions in Texas

Students at a Bellevue School District middle school were asked today to bring in contributions that would used to send financial aid to a pro-abortion organization in Texas called Texas Equal Access Fund. These funds would be used to help women in Texas who cannot afford to pay for abortions.

The staff at this middle school appear to believe it is their position to indoctrinate students on their political viewpoints and share their version of what “healthcare” is. They used the school announcements time today to ask students to bring in used CDs, DVDs, books and more that would be sold and the money would be contributed to the Texas Equal Access Fund.

“Do you want to help make a step in the right direction and help cultivate the idea that everyone has the right to their own body? Support Human Rights Conversation Club’s book drive to raise money for abortions in Texas. You can donate old and used books, CDs, DVDs, board games, and cassettes to Room 235 from now till the end of the school year. These books will be sold to Half Price Books, and all the profit will be donated to Texas Equal Access Fund to aid those who are not in the financial situation to pay for an abortion. Any support is greatly appreciated! Thanks so much.”

This event is sponsored by the school’s “Human Rights Conversation Club”, which we can only assume is based around political activism. The school (and this club) frames abortion as “the right to their own body,” which is a huge overstep of parental rights, especially considering that many parents do not believe that “abortion is healthcare.” Even those who are pro-choice, often have limitations around that choice and believe that there is a point in a pregnancy where abortion should be off limits. We know that abortion activists and politicians have taken abortion so far as to legalizing full term abortion and even in some states, post-birth abortion.

This flyer is posted around the school

This is yet another area where government schools are overstepping their bounds and are choosing political indoctrination over education for students. And most likely, the parents of these students have no idea this is going on. The schools intentionally leave parents out of conversations and events such as this.

On the Texas Equal Access Fund’s website they declare: “We believe that abortion is a fundamental feature of health care, and that it is the responsibility of government to cover abortion as part of social safety net programs.” Newsflash for government schools: not all families agree with your position on abortion.

I have said it before and I will say it again: the government schools are beyond redemption. It’s time to burn it to the ground and completely rebuild our education system. We need school choice. We need resources, including financial, for families who want to homeschool. If each student is worth approximately $16,000 per year in taxpayer dollars for government schools, surely there could be a way to redirect funding to homeschool and other options. Although, then there is the argument of: keep the government out of it altogether. Reduce our property taxes to compensate so our tax dollars are not funding more broken government institutions.

But first! We need to elect leaders who support the idea of parents having control of education and the current system gives too much funding to politicians from teachers’ unions and other special interest activist groups.

The grand solution is complicated, and we don’t have time to wait. We have children to save. Consider finding a way to homeschool – protect your child’s mind and heart from this radical left indoctrination.

I got into this issue on my podcast, Womansplaining, today. Take a listen.

The Radical Left is Normalizing Drag Queen Events for Kids

Over the weekend, parents in Texas took their young children – including babies on laps – to watch and participate in a drag performance at a LGBTQ bar. The parents were met with several [peaceful] protestors as well as citizen journalists who were on scene to document the event.

The event featured drag performances on stage with a sign saying “It’s Not Going to Lick Itself” as the backdrop. Parents were seen holding young babies on their laps as the drag queens performed. Older children (preschool and young elementary age) were given bills by their parents (or the “adults” accompanying them) to stuff in the costumes of the performers.

One mother was telling the bartender that her young son was gay. The boy was busy playing on his Nintendo, completely oblivious and uninterested in the show going on around him. When he hears his mother tell the bartender he is gay he looks up and says, “I’m not gay.” At this his mother says that he is lying and tells the bartender that he is, in fact, gay.

Citizen journalist, Tayler Hansen, was on the scene for this event and describes the scene between the mother and the boy and the bartender:

On Monday, Texas state representative, Bryan Slaton, wrote a press release announcing that he would be introducing a bill to ban drag shows in the presence of minor children. This is legislation that every state should be introducing. It seems like it should go without saying that drag performances in the presence of minor children should be unlawful, but there is a strong movement on the radical left that believes this kind of behavior and grooming is appropriate for children.

In response to Representative Slaton’s press release yesterday, California state senator Scott Wiener, tweeted the following:

It’s unclear whether the senator is joking – it’s not a funny thing to joke about and given the type of legislation this senator has sponsored in the past, it seems that he was probably being serious.

Even in “red state” Idaho, Coeur d’Alene is having a “Pride in the Park” event for children of all ages. One of the sponsors in attendance for this event is the Satanic Temple. Antifa will also be at the event to “protect” the LGBTQ community from “religious extremists.” The Community United Methodist Church is also one of the participating sponsors of this event.

These are not isolated events. These events are not limited to “radical left, deep blue” states like Washington, California and New York. These events are being sponsored by corporations, pro-sports organizations, churches, medical associations. This agenda has permeated every aspect of our society. Due, in part, so our silence – our fear of speaking up against this.

We have been seeing these “drag queen story hours” in our public libraries that are funded by our taxpayer dollars going on for a few years now. Recently a Bellingham school board member hosted a children’s event at her sex shop. Groups are encouraging parents to take children to pride parades and events this month to celebrate the LGBTQ community and lifestyle. There is a huge rise in promotion of these events and push to make them acceptable by most of our society.

We cannot afford to be silent. You may be thinking: “But I don’t want people to think I’m unloving or unkind.” We can love people and treat them with respect without condoning their lifestyle and this kind of behavior. We can, and we must, speak up for our children (ALL children!) and not allow adults to do this to children. At one time in our society, exposing children to this would have been considered child abuse. Nothing has changed about that – it is still child abuse, it is grooming of young children making them susceptible to sexual abuse and exploitation.

We cannot hide behind political correctness. We must speak out. We must hold our elected officials to account. We must elect new leaders who will commit to protecting our children.

It’s Been 6 Years Since Obama’s “Transgender Bathroom” Directive

6 years ago yesterday President Obama gave a directive for all government schools to allow transgender students to use the bathroom that matched their gender identity or that schools would be in violation of federal law.

This letter/directive was not legally binding but suggested to government schools across the nation that if they deny transgender students the right to use the restroom of their choice, they would be non-compliant with the federal law known as Title IX. If they are in violation of Title IX, they could lose federal funding or face a federal lawsuit. We can be certain that Washington state, along with many other radical left run states in America, celebrated this move by the Obama administration.

6 years ago, I wrote on Facebook:

It’s not just about transgender. Taking a stand against this does not make me a hateful homophobe. In fact, the opposite is true.

Feelings are fickle. Chromosomes not so much. How about better mental health care in this country. The statistics show that something like 99% of transgendered individuals have a history of abuse in their past. Coincidence, I think not.

Play this one out. All the way. It brings madness and chaos (more of it) to our already broken society.

Madness and chaos. This is where we are today. It’s a runaway train and if we do not make our stand now, we will have no chance in righting this ship.

Today in Washington schools we have gone so far from allowing students to use the bathroom they want. Today, as part of Washington’s “gender inclusive schools”, teachers and staff are directed by the OSPI (state superintendent) to keep a student’s gender identity secret from parents. You daughter could be using male pronouns at school and being called a boy’s name and the school and staff will do everything they can to keep it from you. And this is within the law here in Washington (and many other states).

Maybe you don’t speak up about this much because you don’t want to be called names and accused of being a hater, a homophobe, a transphobe, etc. We can no longer afford to sit back in silence for fear of what others will think or say about us. We have lost many of our parental rights in the name of “gender inclusion” and the radical left will continue to push this agenda as far as they possibly can.

It’s time to speak up. We can speak truth and facts in a loving, respectful way. We can’t control how people respond to it, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t say it. Our children who are growing up in a society speaking lies deserve us for us to be outspoken truth tellers.

Menstrual Dignity Law Requires Tampons in Boy’s Bathrooms

Whenever I think of the boy’s bathroom…”Smokin’ in the boy’s room”…starts playing in my head. Well folks, we’ve come a long way from 1973…time for a new song…”Menstruating in the boy’s room.”

Oregon has passed a new law that will put tampon machines in every government school boy’s bathroom, including elementary school. The OR Department of Education has expressly stated that schools must consider “all-gender access” to menstrual products. The code now instructs schools to consider and teach based on the “4 Pillars of Menstrual Dignity,” as part of their health and education justice.

The toolkit provided by the Department of Education provides schools with guidelines on how to refer to menstruation without referring to gender, further indoctrinating students with their gender ideology and LGBTQ+ agenda. This Menstrual Dignity act is to be pushed into the elementary schools as well – because we need to indoctrinate our children at the youngest age possible when they are most easily manipulated and influenced.

Beyond the obvious attack on gender, there is also a financial component to this that will cost Oregon taxpayers. Each tampon machine is expected to cost approximately $400 – in each boy’s bathroom, in each government school in the state. That’s thousands of machines. If you know anything about young boys, you can probably imagine how well this will go over in their bathroom. I can imagine the pranks and the messes now. Clogged toilets and sinks, making more work for janitorial staff…again at a cost to the taxpayers.

If you’re thinking about how glad you are that this is happening in Oregon, not Washington, be alert! There is no doubt in my mind that Washington Democrats will quickly follow suit and likely (although I haven’t researched it) have something similar already in the works. We must be prepared to oppose this.

There is no area of human life that the left will not attempt to use to confuse and control our children. This is not just about menstrual products. This is not about “menstrual dignity.” This is another part of the left’s strategy – another attack on God’s design for humanity. Don’t play their woke games. Educate your children in truth.

The SCOTUS Leak: The Moment Activists Have Been Waiting For

Yesterday POLITICO reported a leak of the documents from the Supreme Court showing the court’s decision to overturn Roe v Wade is initially exciting and encouraging for the pro-life movement, yet it is egregious and very dangerous for the court and for our country. The left, who has been crying about an “insurrection” on January 6th has given hero status to an actual insurrectionist. This individual should be identified, disbarred and thrown in jail.

There is a lot to unpack with this issue: why was it leaked and by whom? What is the intent? Is it to cause civil unrest – another summer preceding elections filled with riots and chaos? We see politicians and activists across the country protesting and rallying as early as last night. They sure got organized very quickly…or did they? There’s no doubt that activists on the left have been preparing for this moment.

Today Jay Inslee and many other elected officials in Washington state are out holding rallies in Seattle: pro-choice rallies, because everyone should have the choice over what happens to their own body. That’s weird, he sure didn’t seem to think so when it came to forcing citizens to get the mRNA injections. How many people lost their jobs because they are pro-choice when it came to the injection? I’m sure you could probably name a few, at least.

In California, lawmakers are sponsoring a bill that would allow women from anywhere in the country to come to California for an abortion and all their expenses would be paid by the taxpayers.

“SB 1142 would establish a first-of-its-kind fund composed of state and philanthropic dollars that would significantly increase funding for abortion services for low-income Californians and for out-of-state residents who may come here for an abortion. The landmark bill would also create a comprehensive webpage for those seeking reproductive services in California, regardless of where they live.”

We’ve always known that the matter of abortion is a spiritual battle, but we are seeing that battle on such a large scale right now – Satan and his minions aren’t even trying to be discreet. This leak was intended to create division and chaos in our country. It’s likely a distraction from a number of other things: Hunter Biden’s laptop, our ailing president, inflation, the southern border, Ukraine…just to name a few.

What’s been particularly remarkable about this event and the outcry from the pro-choice activists and politicians is that suddenly, everyone is a biologist. We can say “woman” again. We can say that women get pregnant. We must protect “women’s rights.” Just yesterday we couldn’t even define what a woman is, yet, I have watched all over social media today as these “non-biologists” are screaming in defense of women and their rights to abortion as healthcare.

The left gets so emotionally charged that they forget their own narrative and talking points. This is a perfect opportunity for conservatives (and non-leftists) to call out their nonsense. When we see them on their soapbox at their rallies to protect women’s rights we must call out their own lies. They know that there are two genders. They know how to define a woman. However, they want to confuse our children. They want to confuse our population. A confused population is so much easier to control and manipulate.

This leak and this decision are huge issues. We’ve never seen anything like this. The leak not only intimidates the conservative justices who have voted to over Roe v Wade, it creates chaos in America and will have long term repercussions for SCOTUS.

Please pray for our justices, pray for our leaders, pray for our country and pray for the unborn.

A Political Outsider’s Takeaway from the 2022 Legislative Session

I’ve never been involved in politics or government and to be honest, most of my life I felt like these issues were really boring and was content to leave them to others to deal with. Well that turned out to be a completely irresponsible and costly idea. Maybe you feel the same: as you’ve been living your life, raising your family, running your business, leaving the lawmaking stuff to “others” now you see how disastrous that has turned out for Washington and America.

Once we see it, we must commit to doing our part to influence change. This year, I engaged for the first time ever in Washington’s legislative session. I didn’t have it well thought-out, but after a conversation with Representative Jim Walsh about a civics education bill he was sponsoring that had been given a hearing in the House Education Committee, I decided to sign up to testify in support of this bill at the hearing. This would be the beginning of a very busy legislative session for me.

I woke up the morning of the hearing, rushing our 4 teenagers out the door, then had my coffee in hand and laptop as I reclined on the couch in my pj’s and messy bun and waited my turn to speak. The Washington legislature was still operating remotely in 2022, so all testimony would be done by Zoom. As it turns out, they wanted cameras on – so I rushed to make my top half look halfway presentable.

I realized there was strong opposition to Rep Walsh’s bill at this hearing. There were several people testifying in opposition from the teachers’ unions to PTA groups and other special interest education groups and there was little ole me, the only person testifying in support of this bill that would have mandated civics to be taught in K-8 grade (it’s already part of 9-12 curriculum) and would have also put limits on CRT. This was another eye-opening, “wake-up” moment for me. The other side was very well organized and “our side” didn’t even show up. Had I not had this crazy idea of testifying on this bill there would have been zero support for Walsh’s bill, making it an easy slam-dunk to kill his bill.

Obviously, it takes more than one concerned mom to testify in support of a bill to keep it moving and thus began my crusade to get other citizens involved in this legislative process.

CLW Founder, Julie Barrett, testifying in opposition to SB-5883

This year’s session was a “short session,” lasting only two months. We saw hundreds of bad bills get jammed through the legislature by the Democrat majority. According to Senator Mike Padden of Spokane, this was the most partisan session ever, passing more bills with zero Republican support. Conservative Ladies of Washington became very active in testifying on bills, from gun rights to governor’s emergency powers to education, healthcare and more. It is nearly impossible to keep up with the volume of bills in a session, so we chose to be strategic in our approach and choose bills that closely align with our organization’s mission.

For me, as a “political newbie”, this was a very eye-opening experience and shaped my views as to how we, as citizens, can influence change in our state and beyond. We have many things we can do as citizens to make our voices heard: we can peacefully protest, we can petition, we can have rallies and fundraisers, we can run for office and attend council meetings and board meetings, to name a few. However, if we don’t change who is making our laws and what laws are being passed, we will continue to go farther off the left cliff.

All the protests and rallies and petitions won’t move the needle if the people who are making are laws are dead set on passing the laws they want, with no regard for bipartisanship. If you look at the makeup of our Washington state legislature, you will see that the democratic side of the aisle (the majority party) is not “moderate” and in fact, they are what we would call the “radical left”.

This session saw the radical left of Washington passing laws like SB-5883, allowing minors of any age to have consent from any adult for health or medical care. This is one CLW fought very hard. We saw the passage HB-1851 to give even greater accessibility to abortions and changing language to be more inclusive, changing the word “woman” to “pregnant person.” The legislature also passed a bill to fund empty student seats in government education. And in a year when our state has a $15 billion surplus, the democrats passed bills to collect even more taxes from Washington citizens.

In short: it was a dumpster fire.

The state legislature is the foundation for everything else that is happening in our state – whether it is mask or Covid-19 injection mandates or “police reform.” If we do not change who is making our laws, we aren’t going to see anything change in our state. Same goes for our country on a national level. We must be electing conservative lawmakers if we want to right this ship.

So what can you do?

  • Support conservative lawmakers in the re-election campaigns. Donate directly to their campaign. Volunteer to door knock, share content on social media, hold signs, etc.
  • Learn about candidates running for office – vet them well!! Get behind conservative candidates and help raise money, donate directly and volunteer.
  • Get involved in the next legislative session: sign up to testify either in person/remote or in writing. Forward our calls to actions to all your friends. Email and call your representatives.
  • Hold ALL elected officials accountable. This means even the Republicans who are voting along with the democrats. Write or call them and ask why they are voting the way they are. They serve the people and have a duty to give us an explanation.

Lastly, I want to encourage you if you are new to politics and government as I am: don’t feel guilty for being late in the game. Don’t let that and being a newcomer hold you back. Your voice matters and we need you to step up and be heard. You don’t have to have any special skills to get involved in the legislative process. I believe the most important voices are concerned citizens like you and me.

“Marijuana” is a Racist Term According to Washington Lawmakers

Hard to believe this little gem slipped past our radar during the ’22 legislative session: HB-1210 was passed to remove the word “marijuana” from the RCW (Revised Code of Washington) and replaced with “cannabis”. According to the bill’s sponsor, Representative Melanie Morgan of Washington’s 29th legislative district: “The term ‘marijuana’ itself is pejorative and racist. As recreational marijuana use became more popular, it was negatively associated with Mexican immigrants.”

The bill states: “The legislature finds that the use of the term “marijuana” in the United States has discriminatory origins and should be replaced with the more scientifically accurate term, “cannabis.”

This bill was passed through the legislature with bipartisan support. It’s interesting that over half of the Republicans voted to pass this bill.

Well, what’s the big deal? you ask.

The big deal is that this is a strategy the democrats have been very successful in using to move the needle further and further to the left. They take these seemingly small steps to change the language, change the narrative, change public perception and it’s not long before they have moved the needle so far, we’re in unrecognizable territory.

A bill like this was certain to pass in Washington’s Democrat-led legislature, so a no vote would not have changed the outcome. It would, however, made a statement of principle. We cannot allow the leftists democrats to continue to manipulate our language to promote their woke agenda. We can find something to be offended about by pretty much anything if we look hard enough. Where does it end? If we put up with garbage, woke, weird, games like this, there is no end and the insanity will only continue to get worse.

We must hold our elected officials accountable for bills like this – even if they seem small and irrelevant. They are neither small nor irrelevant. “Little bills” like this is what has gotten us to this time of insanity in which we are currently living.

Parents Sue School For Transing Their Kid

Massachusetts parents filed a lawsuit in United States Federal Court against Ludlow Public Schools, claiming they “impermissibly inserted themselves into the private realm” of their family, superseding their “rights to make decisions regarding their children’s upbringing, mental health, and well-being.”

Paul L. Baird Middle School had been having private conversations with the plaintiff’s children, who are 11 and 12 years old. The school staff had been intentionally keeping the gender identity conversations secret from the parents, presumably to “protect” the minor children. In an email to school staff on February 28, 2021, the 11-year-old child writes:

“I am genderqueer. … My new name will be R**** … If you deadname me or use any pronouns I am uncomfortable with I will politely tell you … A list of pronouns you can use are: she/her he/him they/them fae/faerae/aer ve/ver xe/xem ze/zir. … Please only use the ones I have listed and not the other ones. I do not like them,”

If you’ve got children, you are likely aware of how easily influenced they are by their peers and the current trends. Add social media to the mix and it makes it even easier for them to succumb to the current craze. I remember when my son was around 12 years old and there was a “cinnamon YouTube challenge” happening on social media where the person was supposed to ingest a couple of heaping tablespoons of cinnamon and not cough, drink, etc. Let me just say, I got a kick out of watching him try that. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Fortunately, that trend had minimum consequences. What we’re talking about here is a much different, much more serious, issue and parents need to be aware.

For more content on this topic listen to Episode 10 of the Womansplaining podcast with Julie Barrett

But it’s not just social media influencing our children. It’s teachers and school staff that most of us, in an effort to raise respectful children, have taught our children to respect. That authority that we have given to the people we entrust to educate our children has been violated – possibly beyond repair. The people that we have told our children to respect are teaching them about “gender identity” and this idea that one can choose their gender (and there’s not just 2) and can make up pronouns. There is an entire vocabulary around this LGBTQXYZPD*&^ movement that is completely fictional. It’s made up. It’s imaginary. But the adults in the schools are telling children it’s real and they’re being instructed to use the vocabulary and face consequences if they don’t. All of this under the guise of “inclusion.”

Our children are being confused and the schools are being used to divide and alienate children and parents.

In Washington state, we have “gender inclusive” school guidelines set forth by the OSPI (Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction) that require school staff to keep a student’s gender identity secret from parents unless they have been given express consent by the student otherwise. Just because Washington has laws that allow the government schools to operate in this manner in regard to our children, doesn’t mean we should let them or that we shouldn’t fight back against this complete violation of our God-given parental rights.

The lawsuit in Massachusetts is inspiring and I hope that we will see more parents around the country challenging schools and state laws in this way. We’ve got three different law groups in Washington that are seeking plaintiffs for cases just like the one in Massachusetts. If you are a parent who has had your constitutional rights violated by government schools, please send me an email to be connected to one of these law groups. There is no cost to you if they file a lawsuit on your behalf. julie@conservativeladiesofwa.com

The ideal situation is getting your children out of the government schools. If you cannot…even if you can…start having conversations with your children about what’s being taught and the difference between truth and fiction. The best way to fight back is to give our children facts and information so they can withstand the indoctrination of the woke left.
