Let me preface this article by telling you once again, that I’m not a “political” person. I don’t have background or experience in politics. That means, a lot of what I think and a lot of what I do goes against those who have been involved with politics for any length of time. It doesn’t always win me favor but I’m okay with that. I’m not here to win points, I’m here to do the right thing because I care about my country.
Republicans are often talking about the “compromises” that are necessary for them to make so that they can make political gains with their democratic counterparts. I’ve learned that this means that a Republican lawmaker might vote for a Democrat’s bill even though they disagree with it, if they think it might win them some votes from the Democrat on their own bill. And then when it comes time to vote on said bills, the Republican lived up to their end of the deal but the Democrat did not. Shocking, right?! I mean, who saw that coming?!
This is common practice I’m told. Last week Democrats and Republicans came together to support a massive infrastructure bill. Biden went on tv to brag about the bipartisan support for this bill and claimed that “leadership is back” in America. And then just a few hours later, Biden caves to Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer and says that if this bill is not tied to a massive tax and spending bill he won’t sign it. Classic bait and switch. Who is surprised???!!
For far too long, Republicans have been compromising with Democrats who have slowly and very consistently been passing their agenda through our government institutions with the help of Republicans. It is pretty obvious to most of us that these “compromises” are only a one-way street and it’s been going on for decades. It’s difficult for me to understand why Republicans continue to compromise on issues that deserve a hard line in the sand. It’s a political game and it’s pretty clear to me that the losers of this game are the American people. We find ourselves in this situation with our country quickly moving towards socialism because we have elected Republican leaders who have compromised as they play the political game…and probably for financial gain as well. And “we the people” continue to re-elect them. And we’re told by the GOP leaders that this is compromise, this “game, is what has to happen if we are to get even a little bit of what we want.
We gave inches and they became miles. We don’t have room for leaders who are going to compromise. The Democrats are controlling who wins their game, just like they control who counts the votes. When are we going to wake up and demand that our elected leaders take a firm stance and don’t compromise? When are we going to say enough is enough; it’s time for you to draw the line in the sand and say “my way or the highway?” The left does it all the time. And they’re winning all the time.
The mid-term elections are right around the corner. It’s time for us to take a good, hard look at the candidates that are being put forward. Conservative Ladies of Washington has a process for each candidate we endorse or add to our voter’s guide. If they do not align with our values 100%, they don’t go on the list. We are not compromising. We are not supporting candidates who want to be “luke warm” because they want to appeal to both sides. There is no strength in that. Strength is taking a stand, even if it is going to cost you.
The RINOs like Jaime Herrera Buetler, Mitt Romney, Liz Cheney, Dan Newhouse, Lisa Murkowski, Susan Collins and more…there’s no room for them in our government. They do not support an America-First agenda. They have no backbone. They are playing the political game and “leaders” like these are part of the problem.
It’s time for us to demand more. It’s time for us to get rid of politicians who want to compromise and play political games. I believe America is ready for an uprising of citizens who are going to fight for our Constitutional Rights, fight for our families and our children and fight for this country to remain land of the FREE and home of the BRAVE.
