HB-1876: Concerning public investment impact disclosures for certain ballot measures that repeal, levy, or modify any tax or fee and have a fiscal impact statement that shows that adoption of the measure would cause a net change in state revenue.
*Please note: MUST ACT BY 2/18 9:30AM
HB-1876 allows the state Attorney General’s office to write an economic impact statement, making the initiative process completely politicized. This would prohibit citizens from appealing this statement in court, with no judicial oversight. Essentially, this takes the initiative process away from the citizens, giving power to the government. The radical left hates the initiative process because it allows the average citizens like you and me to influence policy.
We need massive numbers of citizens to register their CON position for this bill. And if you can, please sign up to testify at this hearing on Friday, February 18th at 10:30AM.

You can also submit written testimony by Saturday, 2/19 at 9:30AM here: CSI (wa.gov)
Sample written testimony provided by Tim Eyman: “I strongly oppose SHB 1876 because it empowers the Attorney General to sabotage tax initiatives by inserting a biased sentence into the neutral description of tax initiatives (but not for initiatives on other topics). It even prohibits the citizens from appealing this biased sentence in court (no judicial oversight). That’s discriminatory and violates the neutrality law that’s been in effect for 100 years in our state. I urge you to reject SHB 1876.”
