The Strategy of Distraction

The Strategy of Distraction

Mr. Potatohead…I mean, Potatohead.

Math is racist.

Wear two masks.

Coke wants me to be less white.

It’s chest milk, not breast milk.

The list goes on and on…and on. These are distractions. Don’t get me wrong, these are not small things and they have huge ramifications. These are the distractions that are used by people on the left to get conservatives worked up and angry so that they are consumed with posting about it on social media and ranting to their friends. Meanwhile, the left is pushing through things like the “Covid Relief Bill” (I’m using quotations because 91% of this bill is for things other than Covid relief), HR 5, the Equality Act and HR 1 The For The People Act, which is actually for the politicians and terrible for the people.

If they can distract us with these smaller things that make us angry, they can keep us from paying attention to the larger issues that have far greater consequences. While we’re concerned about a plastic potato that is losing his gender identity, the democrats are busy pushing through the Equality Act that could have you in prison for not allowing your young child to use puberty-blocking drugs and cross-sex hormones. I’m not kidding. This could land you in prison for 6 months. The potato is a problem, it really is, but it is merely a symptom of something bigger and if we cannot focus our attention and our energy on the larger, foundational issues, we are going to keep losing these battles and we will have no one to thank but ourselves.

We must discipline ourselves to focus on the foundational things that the left is working on as opposed to getting worked up at the little things that come up on the daily. And it is daily. Everyday something else has been canceled. It’s Aunt Jemima, it’s Dr. Suess…it’s math, for crying out loud. It’s so easy to get distracted if we are not careful. These “little things”, they are big, but they’re symptoms of the bigger problem and we conservatives have been playing an unending game of whack-a-mole as we attempt to deal with these daily distractions.

With Biden in the White House and the democrats controlling Congress, they are taking full advantage of the opportunity to push through their radical agenda. It is critical that we be focused and diligent. The time of getting caught up in arguments over “petty” (and I don’t think it’s petty, but in comparison to the “big” stuff…well, it’s all relative) issues is over.

Stay informed. Watch what is going on in Washington DC and in Olympia. Not every issue is a “critical” issue and we must be strategic in what issues we give our attention. If you’re like me, you don’t have hours every day to devote to sending emails and making calls to legislators. Therefore, we must be selective and strategic where we spend our energy and our time. Do your research. On this website, we are highlighting the legislation that WE believe is most important right now. We know that our First and Second Amendments are under direct attack – these are the issues we are giving our focus and we are asking you to give your attention.

I know that these issues like the Potato thing are really annoying and maddening. And they are important. But like I said, they are symptoms of something bigger. We can choose not to buy the toy, not to give our money to that company, but we are going to be in big trouble if we end up in jail because we did not follow the “Equality Act.” This is a very real threat, my friends. And one we cannot and must not take lightly.

Let’s get laser-focused. Let’s not allow the left to be successful in their attempt to distract us. Let’s zero in on the foundational issues that threaten our American way of life, our families, our children.
