WA OSPI requests $4 BILLION from outgoing Gov Jay Inslee

WA OSPI, Chris Reykdal, petitioned outgoing Governor Jay Inslee this week to provide $4 BILLION in funding to government schools over the next biennium ($2B in 2025 and $2B in 2026), claiming the government schools are “underfunded.”

We have seen the funding rise substantially in government schools and student achievement and success continue to drop. Where is the accountability?

Reykdal goes on to say: “Budget writers must recognize that schools today are expected to do everything from feeding and educating students, to supporting, protecting, and nurturing their developmental, physical, and mental health.”

This is what FAMILIES are for, not government schools. Stop removing the rights of parents and stop funding the replacement of families with the education industrial complex!

Both democrats and republicans are calling to “fully fund public education.” Schools should not be a “one stop shop”. We believe the students of Washington state deserve better, deserve change! Stop indoctrinating WA students and get back to the basics of education!
