Tuesday, January 16th will be a big day in the House Civil Rights & Judiciary Committee as they have a full agenda with bills to demolish what’s left of your 2nd Amendment rights in Washington state.

HB 1902 – Enhancing requirements for the purchase or transfer of firearms.
Requiring a permit to purchase a firearm – includes fees, fingerprints and live fire training. Check out this video from Washington Gun Law for more details on HB 1902: https://youtu.be/tjRe1Gp_B-I
HB 1903 – Reporting lost or stolen firearms.
This bill requires you to report lost or stolen firearms to law enforcement within 24 hours of learning the firearm has been lost or stolen. Failure to do so could result in a civil penalty up to $1,000
HB 2021 – Concerning the disposition of privately owned firearms in the custody of state or local government entities or law enforcement agencies.
Allows the state to order forfeiture of your firearm for mental instability, if your firearm was purchased commercially without proper permitting, if you were carrying in a place where a concealed pistol license was required and you did not have one…and a long list of other things. The bill also addresses what is to be done with firearms obtained through the “gun buy-back” programs we have been seeing around the state.
HB 2054 – Concerning bulk purchases and transfers of firearms
This bill would limit you to practicing your 2nd amendment right to purchase a firearm to ONCE every 30 days. Don’t worry, the state will keep track for you. Watch Washington Gun Law’s video on HB 2054: The Quota that Washington State Wants to Set On Your Constitutional Rights (youtube.com)
HB 2118 – Protecting the public from gun violence by establishing additional requirements for the business operations of licensed firearms dealers
Our partner, William Kirk over at Washington Gun Law describes HB 2118 as the “most dystopian gun control law yet.” Watch his video on HB 2118: Washington’s Most Dystopian Gun Control Law Yet (youtube.com)
