We Need YOU!

For most of us, when we hear the term “civic duty,” we think of attending rallies, waving signs, or filling out our ballots. These are all essential and God-given opportunities for political discourse in our country. However, it seems too many conservatives ignore the not-so-sexy activities of legislative participation and communicating with our elected officials about the issues we’re passionate about. Conservatives may not be intentionally ignoring this crucial element of civic duty. It’s very possible most don’t know where to start, or when is the best timing, or who is the best person to contact, especially when our own representatives work against our political and moral values.

“Marijuana” is a Racist Term According to Washington Lawmakers

HB-1210 was passed to remove the word “marijuana” from the RCW (Revised Code of Washington) and replaced with “cannabis”. According to the bill’s sponsor, Representative Melanie Morgan of Washington’s 29th legislative district: “The term ‘marijuana’ itself is pejorative and racist.

Washington OSPI Seeks Funding to Compensate Massive Unenrollment

On Friday, Washington OSPI, Chris Reykdahl, stated in his press conference that enrollments are down 4% over the last 2 years. He’s asking the state legislature not to “force OSPI to pull those dollars back from school districts because of this temporary blip in enrollments.”

Gov Inslee: The Unvaccinated are Terrorists

At a press conference last week where Washington Governor, Jay Inslee, was giving yet another Covid update, he said: “Thirty-four percent of Washingtonians are walking around with a time bomb in their backpack because they’re not vaccinated.”
