“The legislature recognizes that parents are the best protectors of their children and have the natural right and duty to care for them.
The legislature acknowledges that the United States supreme court has repeatedly recognized and protected the rights of parents and guardians and stressed the importance of family.”

Week 3 Washington Legislative Session
As promised, every Monday of the session we’re sending you our “Top 5” bills that have hearings or some kind of action happening in the legislature this week. There are certainly a lot more than 5, but we’ll try to pick the ones we feel are most important so you can direct your efforts to those. You can go to our Legislative Action Center at any time to see our full list of bills and calls to action if you want to dig in even deeper.
6 Pro Abortion Bills to be Heard in Olympia Next Week
On Tuesday, January 24th, our state legislature will hold hearings on SIX different pro-abortion bills. These bills are being heard in 5 different committees at the same time!
Get Louder for Our Kids
Even if you are not a parent or grandparent, we really need your voice. It is infuriating what we are watching in the legislature’s education committees this session. Complete disregard and disdain for parents. The Democrats in power truly believe that they have the authority over OUR children. Please, join us in fighting back! We’re doing our best to make it easy for you.
Senate Bill 5237 Seeks to Take Local Power from School Boards
If parents object to certain teaching materials, they may bring those objections to their local school board and let the superintendent know. District superintendents then establish curriculum FOR THEIR DISTRICT based on their district’s needs. Critical theory proponents in Olympia don’t like this. So, they’ve introduced SB 5237 which threatens non-compliant school districts with certain consequences, including withholding twenty percent of the district’s funds.
The Assault on Our 2nd Amendment Rights
There is no shortage of bills filed in the Washington state legislature this year. As we reported last month, Jay Inslee and Bob Ferguson are laser-focused on passing a gun control “package” of bills with their grandaddy of them all being the “assault weapons ban.”
Senator Dozier Sponsors Parents Bill of Rights
Here in Washington, Senator Perry Dozier of Walla Walla has sponsored a Parents Bill of Rights related to their child’s education in public schools. We have seen the public schools – led by the state OSPI – intentionally cut parents out of the education process and bring policies and programs into the schools that are anti-parent and anti-family.
Basic Income Program a Very Real Possibility in WA
HB-1045 would create a pilot program for leftist democrats to introduce a universal income to Washington state, following the lead of California. This bill asserts that climate change, disease and quarantines will become the “new normal”, causing economic hardship and requiring the state to respond by providing financial income to Washington residents. Who will pay for this? We will.
Kickoff! Week 1 Washington Legislative Session
The 2023 Washington State Legislative session begins today at noon when the legislators are sworn-in in Olympia.
New Year’s Resolution: TAKE ACTION!
Make a commitment this year to take action at your local level. Maybe it’s your local school board, city council, county council, etc. Pick one to follow and engage with and stick with it all year!
